What Hashtags Are For

I’m getting really irritated seeing hashtags pop up everywhere on social media for no reason at all!!! Seriously people, get to know what a hashtag is FOR before PLASTERING it all over the place!!! To help you with that, I’m devoting my time and knowledge for this post today. First of all, let me tell you what a hashtag is for. A hashtag is a label for content. It helps others who are interested in a specific topic, quickly find content on that same topic. For example, during the horrific Boston Marathon Bombings in 2013, several hashtags were used. They proved invaluable for providing up- to- the- minute news on the bombings. Several big news stories in recent years have been amplified using hashtags. And here I am, sitting in front of my Facebook, seeing hashtags all over my screen for god- knows- what! People, I DO NOT care about your personal feelings or teenage drama. So, if something important is going on, please let me know by putting in a hashtag. Otherwise, do me a Huge favor, and Stop ruining social media!!! For more information, a hashtag looks something like this- #MarathonBombings

I think that’s about it. Put the knowledge you earned today to good use, and help make the World Wide Web a better place- a place free of stupid hashtags.
